The loss of two great men!!

Well needless to say the last few months have been an emotional roller coaster to say the least. We were saddened with the loss of two great men in our lives. We lost my father on June 20, 2011 and lost Alan's father on July 26, 2011. We will miss them both so very much!! Both men passed with Military Honors.

This was the last time we were with Papa "Nate"...we met him for lunch about 2 weeks before he passed away. We enjoyed hearing all of his knowledg and stories.

Well it's 2011 and I just might try to stay up with my blog...ha ha that is funny but I really am going to try. So for those of you who don't already know, we are expecting a baby boy on May 5th!! Cinco de Mayo baby!! He was a surprise for sure!! Capri did tell us she wants a sister not a brother, she already has enough brothers she told us. I have several things to blog about so I will update and most likely will be out of order but I will get all caught up and start new this year!! Happy New Year!!

We took three of the five kids to flagstaff and there wasn't much snow left so we decided to drive to the Grand Canyon...the kids and Alan had never been there. It was amazing and little bit scary for those of us afaid of heights.

Ostrich Festivel....we go every year and this year Capri was old enough to go on quite a few rides. She loves the rides.

So last night we had our 1st trip to ER with Capri!! Poor girl was in her cheer outfit and doing cheers and dancing for us and then decided it was time to climb on her dad and practice tumbling backward on the couch and hit her head on the window sill and put a nice big gash in the back of her head. 2 1/2 hours after waiting and waiting and waiting, she had to have 5 staples put in her poor little head.

My blog is way out of date and why out of order...but at least I am updating and putting up some new pictures. So besides yesterday's post we are back tracking a bit....Ok, Ok!!!! I have been a huge slacker when it comes to blogging....the last few months have gotten away from me. So let's go back to the last log. Which seems to be just days before my dad suffered his stroke. So life has been tough. Thank you to all of our family and friends for the prayers and fasting that has been done. He is a righteous and great man and father.

We went to take Capri and Cole to see Princess and the frog and look who was in the lobby of the theatre??? Alvin and the Chipmunks. Capri was so excited she could hardly stand it.

We went out to dinner and Capri thinks she was driving a race car.

We took Capri with us to the "Good Guys" classic car show....

Capri liked "Mater until we got up close.

We saw a pink panther car. We had fun day dreaming of having such nice classic cars....my dream car for classic would be a 50's bel air!!

Halloween Party!!!

Halloween was a few weeks long this year. We had a Halloween party that we attended the week before and then I dressed up for work, Capri dressed up to go to Margo's house on Friday before Halloween and then Friday night we had our "Fig Fall Festival" at Duncan's. We had a great time at all the events the kids had the best time at the family party. Great Job Kalli!!!! Pictures are a little out of order but had to post a few.

Capri is becoming the little diva!!! She told Margo the other day that she was going to wear her pretty purple dress and go on a date. Margo said oh really who do you think you are going on a date with? She tells Margo with Cole(her brother). So Margo tells me the story and I can't even think of what purple dress she is talking about because she doesn't have a purple dress. So we get home and I remember that she has been wearing my flower girl dress from Cory and Jeri's wedding. So she keeps telling us that is her date dress.

So then the other day she comes out with her baby dolls glasses on and her purse and my shoes on and tells us she is a supermodel and going to the mall. What have we got on our hands!!!!

We spent the day at Amazing Jakes's for Labor Day. The kids had the best time. We were there for almost 6 hours. Capri loved the kids roller coaster she went on it over 10 times I think. She loved it. It was shocking to me. Minature golf is very trying with a 3 year old but we managed. Sorry to those who are on my facebook....all the same pics.

August is a busy month for us!!! Happy Birthday Cameron August 2nd!! Happy Birthday Alan and Cody August 5th. We have Cole as well on the 23rd. I just want Alan and the boys to know how much I love them and adore them. I am very thankful for a wonderful husband. One more year Sweetie!!! The hill is coming!!! Love you lots!!! We had cake out at my mom's on Sunday to celebrate Alan's birthday!

It has been awhile since I posted. Back in June we took a day off and went to the Circus! The kids had such a great time. Thank you to Cris for getting us such a great deal. It was nice to spend some time with so many family members. We took up almost a whole section!!!

Capri got to sit by her best buddy Kolby!!! They are so fun and cute together!!! They think they are brother and sister.

We had a party at work and the theme was PROM. So thankful to Margo she had her PROM dress that I borrowed.

This is me, my manager and one other co-worker. We all had to dress up like we were going to the prom. We had to wear the dresses all day, not the most comfortable but it was a fun day!!

We celebrated Capri and Alyana's birthday's together a few weeks ago. I have just been so busy haven't had a moment to post these pictures. We had a flip flop theme and thanks to Zach and Teresa we had a fun water party in their yard. Teresa made some great food. Here is the flip flop pinata....the kids had so much fun trying to break it open.

So it has been "FOREVER" since I updated my blog....Britni keeps reminding me....I haven't had much time to even think lately. I have two new jobs since Feb. and have been working like 60-75 hours a week. BUT ANYWAY......

Capri and Maizi decided to play dress up at Grandma's....reminds me of when we were little at Grandma Beth's with Tiffany and Tasha.

Way late but "Happy Birthday Bronson". This was from Bronson's 21st birthday party out at Cory and Jeri's. Had a great time just enjoying a night with family.

Capri and Alan have been spending lots of time together and decided to wash his work van the other night....she was soaked by the end but loved helping her dad.

Saturday we went to the Glendale Chocolate Affaire!!! Cole came with us. Capri and Cole had so much fun. They went on a few rides and played games.

Cole made it to the top of the coconut tree!!! YEAH!!!

Cole and Capri outside of the Cerreta's chocolate shop. We went on a tour of the store. They showed us how they make chocolate covered pretzels and strawberries. It was a lot of fun despite the cold weather and the little sprinkles of rain.

We went to Flagstaff on Saturday on the spur of the moment with some friends of ours. Capri loved playing in the snow. She keeps saying she wants to go to the snowman. She said I played in the snowman. She hasn't put the difference between snow and snowman. She didn't want to leave the snow.

This snow right here was so soft and deep we sunk all the down to our waists. Alan and I had quite the time getting out. Capri walked on it like it was no big thing. It was 7 degrees when we got up this morning to come home. I have never seen so much snow in Flagstaff. Does that bring back memories to Tiff? I don't know who you lived in that....we did have fun. First of many snow trips...

Christmas was here and gone way too quickly. We had a kind of quiet Christmas. We went to my mom's for lunch/dinner which was "yummy". Capri loves playing with all of her cousins. She was worn out at the end of night. She got a new "kitchen" which was not easy to put together, thank you Alan for being patient and putting it together. (2hours later), and her very own "computer". She always wants to type on our laptop so we got her, her own. She loves it.

We of course had the traditional "Thanksgiving breakfast at Mom and Dad's. We had a great time despite the few sprinkles and the rain the day before. It was all about eating and having fun chatting with the family. Here is Chance and Cory eating and talking I am sure it was about Chance's hunting trip.

This trip to the Zoo was like 5 weeks ago but I was bad about posting. We decided on a "whim" to take Capri to the zoo because she is finally to the age where she likes "aminals" as she says.

We say the elphanents (that is how Capri says it)

She loved petting the goats. She was scared at first but then I couldn't get her out of the petting zoo.

Capri had Kolby (Margo's little boy) spend the night with us. Margo and her husband needed a night out and we owe Margo for taking such good care of Capri for us. Kolby came home with us on Friday night and we watched a movie and ate popcorn.

This is Saturday morning watching cartoons. They love to be right next to each other. They had a great time. It was nice for Capri to have Kolby at her house for once. I think she thought it was odd that Margo came to her house and not us going there.

Girl/Birthday Weekend

I spent the Friday night with my friend Audria. She was in town to go to a WLS Convention with me on Saturday. We went to dinner at Applebee's and went back to the hotel and rented a movie. It was nice to have a girls night. We went to the convention at 8:30am and we met BetteSue from the last season of "Biggest Loser".
This is Krista, Me, and Audria at our table for the convention. We had so much fun. We tried a Zumba class. If you don't know what that is it is an exercise class that is based around Latin dancing. We had so much fun doing it, we went to just observe but 2min into the class the instructers pulled us in. It was a heck of a workout. We were sweating that's for sure. I think I want to start taking the class. It doesn't feel like exercise just dancing. (since I am so coordinated and all) NOT!!!! But it was a good time. We left the convention and went to the mall for a little while before Krista and Audria had to start their 3 hour drive home.
After the convention Alan picked me up and we went out to dinner with my friend Tori for my birthday. We had a great time. Thank you Alan for taking care of Capri so I could go with the girls.

I think we will start taking stock in Dave and Buster's. We went again for Cole's Birthday on the 23rd. He shares Maizi's birthday.

We went to hang out at Grandma's on Sunday, the kids were playing school. That brings back all kinds of memories playing school on the back patio when we were all little.

We haven't done anything really exciting lately. The boys had their first football games. I didn't get any good pictures of them playing. The last two Saturday's Roxxi and I have had garage sales. We had to try twice, the first one was a BOMB!!! Second one turned out much better...thanks to Kalli loaning us her driveway. Thanks Kalli! Britni came out to hang out with us. I was so tired that I was laughing at everything. We had such a good time. It was nice to hang out with my sisters with no kids. Alan and I are getting ready to go camping again this upcoming weekend before it gets too cold. I will post pictures when we get back.

Alan and his grandfather "Earl". He is a very brillant man. We had a great time visiting with him.
This is Alan and his 3 uncles on his mom's side of the family. His mom had 12 brothers and sisters and this is the 3 siblings still alive.

So Capri went on her first plane ride to Memphis, Tennessee. We left on Thursday night and came back on Monday night. The flight out was not so bad until we got to Atlanta for our connecting flight to Memphis and we had a two hour lay over and then another two hour delay for mechanical error. That was fun with a two year old. We finally got to Memphis. We visited with lots of family. Had a few BBQ's....of course we are in the South!! Capri had a blast playing with all of the kids. We got to visit with Alan's grandfather it is amazing the stories he has to tell and all of the details he remembers. We stayed at a hotel not too far from the famous "Beale St". We were also in town for the "Elvis Week" it is fun to see how many travel to Memphis for this event. We saw the candlelight vigil they had on Saturday night for him at Graceland. The flight home was interesting. We hurried and did last minute visits and shopping before heading to the airport and when we got to the airport we find out that our flight had been canceled. Of course, first thought isn't that great. We already dropped the rental car off and checked out of the hotel. So we had to the counter to find out and we got "LUCKY". We got moved to a direct flight from Memphis to Phoenix with no lay over in Atlanta and we got to sit in "FIRST CLASS"! I bet the others in first class were happy to know that there would be a 2 year old in first class. She actually slept the entire way home. We got home almost 3 hours early because of the cancelation!!! YEAH!! We had a great time. Alan was so happy to see his family. I am spoiled and sometimes take it for granted that my family is all so close. It has been over 2 years since he has seen his family. Thank you to Teresa and Zach for taking care of the dog and cleaning for me.

Saturday we spent the day at Grandma's. Roxxi is in Omaha getting her stuff to move back to AZ and we went to help watch Eternity and Reign and Britni had a church function so we had Maizi and Soakai too. We had a house full. The kids had fun playing together.

We went to Dave and Busters to celebrate Alan's(8/5)closer to 40, Cody's(8/5) turned the big 16 and Cameron's(8/2) turned 14 birthdays. The boys came out winning almost 4000 tickets (holy moly).We got a ton of stuff at the prize store. Capri got a big Elmo stuffed doll. We played family trivia, basketball and tons of other games. We were there for almost 4 hours. The boys had the best time. We were all worn out by the end of the day. Capri loves her brothers. She wants to do everything with them as you can see by her playing the game with Cole. They love taking care of her. One more birthday celebration down.

Camping Trip

I decided to join everyone with the blogging. Don't expect too much. I am not very creative. So here it goes. This is from about 2 weeks ago. July 17-19th. We took the family camping with some friends of ours to Woods Canyon Lake. I think that Capri had the most fun out of all of us including the boys. She wanted to play in the rain and hail on Saturday. The boys went fishing and Capri and I stayed at the camp site. It was very relaxing and fun.
